Youth Leadership

Youth Leadership Delegation

Our youth delegation consists of four different leadership opportunities for varied age groups: Youth Board (9th-11th graders), Youth Advocacy Year-round (9th-12th graders), Youth Advocacy Project Based (9th-12th graders), Youth Council (8th-10th graders), and Youth Outreach (6th-7th graders). Each group fosters leadership skills, encourages community outreach and service, and provides a platform for youth to practice communication and critical thinking.

Camp Bharat

For over 35 years, Camp Bharat has provided a space for children of Indian heritage or those interested in the culture to connect, share experiences, play, develop cultural awareness, and form lifelong friendships. Camp 2025: August 11th-15th at Warm Beach Camp, Stanwood, WA (ages 9-16). Registration opens May 17, 2025, at 9:00am online.

Youth Board (YB)

Youth Board is a platform for 32 youths (9th-11th graders) to collaborate and train as leaders through year-long service projects. Selection-based with a strict attendance policy. Registration for 2024-25: August 24th - September 8th, applications due September 11th, interviews October 5th-6th.

Our Programs

Youth Leadership Overview

The Youth Leadership program provides mentorship, empowerment, and a focus on social-emotional well-being. It offers a safe space for youth to connect, build community ties, and earn community service credits for schools, internships, and college applications.

Youth Advocacy (YA)

Youth Advocacy offers year-round and project-based options for high schoolers (9th-12th graders) to address issues like Racial Equity and Mental Health through mentoring, workshops, and presentations. Registration: Year-round (Sept 7-17, 2024), Project-based (Dec 2024 - Mar 2025).

Youth Council & Outreach

Youth Council (8th-10th graders) explores leadership and mentoring, with roles at Camp Bharat. Registration: Oct 19, 2024. Youth Outreach (6th-7th graders) offers a safe space and volunteer opportunities. Registration: Sept 21, 2024.
